Meet Satara!

• Adult female harbor seal
• Average weight is 110 pounds
• Born in May of 1994
• Learned to swim within 5 minutes of birth
• Came to Oceans of in the spring of 1997 from the Indianapolis Zoo

Satara is our 18 year old Atlantic harbor seal and has been performing at Ocean Connections for 15 years. Satara enjoys interacting with the public in daily presentations and interactive programs. People of all ages enjoy her in our Aquatic Adventure programs as she loves to rub against participant’s legs and entertain them with her antics. The only female harbor seal in our pool, Satara is certainly in charge! Satara's favorite things to do are to play with enrichment in her environment and to chase the other animals around the pool letting them know that Seals Rule!
